Despite this success, HMD has been lagging behind slightly when it comes to adopting the new 18:9 aspect ratio on their phones. We were expecting it on the Nokia 8 but that did not happen, we expected to see it on the second generation Nokia 6 but that too was a wild dream but now we have word going around that the Nokia 7 Plus could be the first Nokia smartphone spotting this new aspect ratio.
We all thought that the alleged Nokia 9 flagship that is coming up in a few weeks would be the first to bring us this new design but reports coming from China point to the possible launch of a Nokia 7 Plus before then.
According to the leak from Chinese chat site, Baidu, the Nokia 7 Plus will come with:
- A 6-inch display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor
- Android 8.0 Oreo upgradeable to Android 8.1
- 12MP + 13MP dual cameras
- 16MP selfie shooter
- 4GB RAM
- 64GB internal storage
- USB-C
There is no word on the release date, but there’s a chance the phone will only be available in the Chinese market seeing that the Nokia 7 was a Chinese exclusive. HMD Global has an event scheduled for February 25, where, HMD says, we should expect it to be awesome. #Hype.
Sorry for radio silence. Been super busy planning #MWC2018 . Please expect it to be awesome 😎
