xiaomi_pocophone_f1_screenAfter a long wait, Xiaomi fans in Kenya can finally breathe a sigh of relief, the Pocophone F1 is officially available in Kenya. This flagship killer comes alongside two other Xiaomi phones, the budget Mi A2 Lite and the Redmi Note 6 Pro.

The addition of these three phones brings Xiaomi’s portfolio in the country to 11 devices that cut across budget to flagship levels, putting up a good fight against the competition. Xiaomi has built a name, around the world, of providing great specs at decent prices and this remains true even in Kenya.

Pocophone F1

Pocophone F1

This device needs to introduction. Ever since its launch, it has been the most hyped up smartphone of 2018, taking away the crown of flagship killer from the OnePlus devices. Priced at Kes.32,999 for the 6GB variant with 64GB of internal storage, the Pocophone F1 is a device that will attract anyone looking for flagship level specs without digging deep into their pockets. Below is a quick breakdown of the specs on the Pocophone F1:

  • Display: 6.18″ (1080*2246) – 18.7:9 aspect ratio
  • Software: Android 8.1 Oreo (upgradeable to Android 9.0 Pie)
  • Processor: Snapdragon 845
  • Memory: 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage
  • Camera: Dual 12MP + 5MP Main, 20MP Front
  • Battery: 4000mAh
  • Extras: Stereo speakers, Infrared face unlock, Fingerprint reader, USB-C

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro

The Redmi Note 6 Pro is a midrange device that offers quite a decent list of specifications with a little compromise of the processor to keep the cost low. Like most 2018 smartphones, the device comes with an iPhone-esque design, whether this is a good thing or bad is entirely up to you but for Kes.23,999, there’s little to complain about this phone. Below is a quick breakdown of the specs on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro:

  • Display: 6.26″ (1080*2280) – 19:9 aspect ratio
  • Software: Android 8.1 Oreo
  • Processor: Snapdragon 636
  • Memory: 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage
  • Camera: Dual 12MP + 5MP Main, 20MP Front
  • Battery: 4000mAh
  • Extras: Fingerprint reader

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite

For those who love Android One devices, this one is probably the cheapest that you can buy in Kenya. Retailing at Kes.16,599, the device comes with unadulterated software from Google on top of more than decent hardware. Unlike the other smartphones launching today, the Mi A2 Lite will probably be the most sold as it is the cheapest and has little compromises on the specs. Below is a quick breakdown of the specs on the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite:

  • Display: 5.84″ (1080*2280) – 19:9 aspect ratio
  • Software: Android 8.1 Oreo (upgradeable to Android 9.0 Pie) –  Android One
  • Processor: Snapdragon 625
  • Memory: 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage
  • Camera: Dual 12MP + 5MP Main, 5MP Front
  • Battery: 4000mAh
  • Extras: Fingerprint reader

All the three phones will be available on Xiaomi’s official Jumia online shop or at Jumia’s physical shop at Emperor Plaza in Nairobi CBD.
