Phone companies work very hard to lock customers into their ecosystem. It is a brilliant strategy that ensures that customers purchase devices from that brand because they are used to it, or trust its offerings.
TECNO, the Chinese manufacturer under the listed Transsion Holding umbrella is taking the same approach.
This development was expected following the launch of HiPods H2 wireless headsets back in July.
The strategy is named TECNO Smart AIoT and marks the company’s strategic expansion of its business portfolio.
AIoT is the new buzzword in the tech space at the moment, following years or popularizing IoT and recently, AI. AIoT is, as the name suggests, a collaboration of the two technologies.
TECNO knows that 5G will be a big thing in the coming days (it has not released any 5G-capable device yet, bearing in mind that the phone maker targets emerging markets such as Africa that have no 5G infrastructure, yet).
To this end, the launch of a forward-looking ‘1+N’ AIoT strategy is designed to meet the needs of the customer.
“”1″ means that customers shall be taken as the core; “N” means N types of living scenarios the customers will experience which includes home interconnection, commerce, education, travel, sport, leisure, entertainment and more in their current and future life,” reads a statement from TECNO.
The company has also revealed that it is prepping the launch of many products, including smart audio, smart wearables and a smart routing solution of the 5G CPE with ultra-high speeds.
“The launch of TECNO 5G CPE will be a game-changer to innovate the broadband connections in global emerging markets, especially in African countries,” adds TECNO.
5G CPE has two main selling points: very high speeds and compatibility, and elevated cost-effectiveness.
The company adds that it will build a foundation of the AIoT ecosystem by providing comprehensive product categories and accelerate smart devices and smart connection developments with a focus on the most expected top two categories of ‘personal + home’ in the near term.
Besides the aforementioned TWS HiPods H2, TECNO has since launched other devices, including the TECNO Watch 1 and TECNO Band 1.
It promises to reveal other smart devices, ranging from Bluetooth related products such as speakers and headphones to smart home devices.
