realme does not appear to slow down its Kenya activities following the company’s entry in the country a couple of months ago.
Word from the manufacturer has it that it will be launching another smartphone here: the realme C15.
Based on the company’s naming scheme, the C15 is a few steps above the C11 that is already in store shelves for KES 10000.
realme has other two phones in Kenya: the KES 30000 realme 6, as well as the realme C3. The company is also selling wireless earphones for people who are trying to move away from 3.5 mm audio.
The C15, is by all means, an entry-level device.
Here is a summary of its specs and features:
Screen: 6.5” with mini-drop notch and Gorilla Glass
Resolution: HD+ (720 x 1560 pixels),
Battery: 6000 mAh, charging with microUSB, 18W fast-charging
OS: Android 10 with realme UI 1.0
Chipset: MTK G35
Memory: 32/3 GB, 64/3 GB, 64/4 GB (realme hasn’t confirmed which model will be available)
Cameras: quad: 13 MP, 8 MP, 2 MP, 2 MP; 8 MP selfie
Fingerprint: rear
The device has every feature right for the price (probably KES 15000): a huge battery that fills up a quarter way by the 30th-minute mark, a big screen, and many cameras with multiple lenses, dual SIM, and a capable silicon.
The device will go official on September 18, and we will know its price then.
Sales will start from September 21.
Sale channels have not been revealed, yet, but we believe customers will be able to pick them offline stores, and online shops such as Jumia and Kilimall.
realme has many other devices, but they are selling in other markets. We are not sure if they will make their way here. The company also has high-end smartphones, but they are yet to launch in Kenya. we doubt the more expensive offerings will be brought here, bearing in mind Kenyans tend to prefer affordable devices.
