Infinix Zero 5G Cameras

Infinix Zero 5G is the company’s first 5G smartphone in Kenya. 5G is picking pace in the country with more test zones being spread across the country and Infinix is bringing the Zero 5G to diversify its lineup of smartphones.

Being a first for the company, Infinix Zero 5G bring a lot more to the table – including a new design and a new faster processor.

Design

Infinix Zero 5G rocks a uni-curve using what the company calls a composite material that mimics the look and feel of glass to give it that premium look but still maintains its comfortable use on the hand.

Infinix Zero 5G comes in Cosmic Black, Horizon Blue and Skylight Orange. Cosmic Black has a glossy finish at the back while Skylight Orange has a vegan leather finish and a leathered texture.

At the front, Infinix Zero 5G has a 6.78″ FHD+ display shipping with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Most games will play at 60fps and more.

.

Brightness is capped at 499 nits and streaming on Netflix is limited to SD quality.

Selfie LED flash sits at the top bezel.

The polycarbonate cover is a magnet for fingerprint smudges but there’s a TPU case provided. On the other hand, the phone is light at 199 grams.

A fingerprint reader comes embedded in the power button. Infinix Zero 5G supports dual nano-SIM cards and an additional slot for external MicroSD storage.

Performance

Infinix Zero 5G comes with MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset and Mali-G68 GPU coupled with 8GB RAM(LPDDR5) and 128GB of onboard storage(UFS 3.1).

The phone comes with Android 11 and XOS 10 straight out of the box. Infinix says it will upgrade to Android 12 later in August. It’s a little late seeing that Android 13 betas are already out but welcome nonetheless.

XOS 10 features on-trend system-wide icons, rebound effects, and enhanced privacy packaged into a fresh and secure software experience.

Other features include MOL translation engine, Smart Panel, Power Marathon, XClone, Monster Game Kit, and  Privacy Tracker.

XOS 10 also comes with Dar-link 2.0 Game Booster Software, DTS Audio, Folax voice assistant, Heat Pipe Thermal Module 2.0 and 3-D Cooling Master that utilizes the 3D 9-layer graphene film for cooling, UFS 2.2 with Write Booster, linear motor technology and Insync application for multi-screen collaboration.

Extended RAM technology extends the RAM up to 11GB with an additional 5G virtual RAM.

For multi-core, Infinix Zero 5G scores 2169 in terms of raw performance. Single-core performance puts it at 706. Antutu reads at 419083 and 487639 for multicore and single-core performance respectively.

The Dimensity chipset, the LPDDR5 RAM and the UFS 3.1 onboard storage will handle all your tasks as a heavy or light user.

Infinix says that the Zero 5G will support up to 13 5G bands. At the moment, it can support Safaricom’s 5G – which is the only 5G network in the country.

Cameras

For optics, Infinix Zero 5G comes with a 48MP triple camera setup with a 13MP telephoto lens featuring up to 30X digital zoom and a 2MP depth sensor. Dual Color LED flashes are on the camera module too.

At the front, we have a 16MP selfie camera with Dual Flash Light.

It’s worth noting that the Zero X Pro has a 108MP main lens coupled with an 8MP ultrawide and 8MP periscope lens(5X lossless zoom and 60X digital zoom).

Modes range from AI cam(default), 48MP mode, Beauty, Bokeh, Telephoto, SuperNight(even for telephoto), Video, Slow Motion, Pro, Panorama, Video SuperMacro, TimeLapse, and Documents.

Video can be shot at 4K 30fps, 1080P at either 60 or 30fps and 720P at 30fps. Both Bokeh video and Ultra Steady mode can be shot at 1080p at 30fps.

4K video really looks well for posting on social platforms like YouTube, Instagram reels or TikTok(when downscaled to 1080p)

Ultra steady videos also look really good for action shots.

Video recording is also impressive at lowlight.

Battery

Infinix Zero 5G is powered by a 5000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging(TÜV Rheinland certified). 30 minutes gets you from 0% to 30%. A full charge will take close to 2 hours.

Infinix says that the Zero 5G can last through 9.4 hours of gaming, 27 days on standby, 22 hours of calling and 152 hours of music playback.

Pricing and Availability

Infinix Zero 5G is now available in the country right from the XPARK website for Ksh 32,999.
