TECNO is planning to launch a limited edition of the Spark 9 Pro in the country very soon. The Spark 9 series was launched in late June this year. The Spark series is the most affordable lineup with the Spark 9 aimed at Gen Z.
The company already has the regular Spark 9, Spark 9T and the Spark 9 Pro available in the country and the limited edition will be a nice addition to the lineup.
It is still unknown what TECNO will add with the limited edition – will it be a new processor, a new camera setup or a new artsy colour version as they did with the recently launched TECNO Camon 19 Pro Mondrian Edition?
For its new phones, TECNO streamlined the design process for the Camon 19 series and the Spark 9 series as they both feature the Twin Camera design – seen above.

The difference is that the Spark 9 series gets a two-tone design with a glossy top half and matte bottom half sporting various colours ranging from Quantum Black, Burano Blue, Holy White, and Hacker Storm.
The TECNO Spark 9 Pro has a 6.6″ full resolution(1080p) capped at 60Hz refresh rate which I pointed out I was okay with in my full review of the phone.
Powering the phone is a Helio G85 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of board storage. You also get up to 3GB of virtual RAM thanks to HiOS Memory fusion feature. Android 12 and HiOS 8.6 come straight out of the box.
TECNO ships the Spark 9 Pro with a 5000mAh battery and a Type-C charging port and that supports 18W fast charging – an upgrade from 10W featured on its predecessor. It takes an hour and 22 minutes to go 2% to 83%.
The biggest upgrade was in the selfie camera department – TECNO moved from 8MP to a 32MP front-facing camera.
The TECNO Spark 9 Pro also comes with a 50MP triple camera array that includes a 2MP depth sensor and VGA camera.
Overall, TECNO’s photography focus on its camera-centric midrange Camon 19 series rubbed off on the Spark 9 as its cameras are surprisingly good as you’ll see in our dedicated photography performance review.
The TECNO Spark 9 Pro does what a budget phone should do. It will get you through your work or play with as little hassle. You are getting a nice screen, decent cameras, good battery life, and it is fast enough to keep up with your tasks.
I can’t wait to see what TECNO has planned with the limited edition of this phone.
