Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is running a Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and verification drive across the country.
Yet, if you scroll through social media, one thing is clear: many young Kenyans don’t know where to register or even check their voting details.
Whether you’re registering for the first time or confirming your polling station, here’s how to check for the nearest IEBC voter registration center online in just a few steps.
Before you rush to register again, make sure you’re not already in the system. The IEBC has a simple Voter Verification Portal that takes less than a minute to use.
If your details are incorrect, or you’ve moved since you last voted, you’ll need to visit a registration center to update them.
Step 1: Visit the IEBC Voter Registration Portal
Go to the official IEBC Registration and Polling Centers page. This page lists all registration centers across Kenya’s 290 constituencies, which double as polling centers during elections.
Step 2: Select Your County
You’ll see a simple drop-down menu labeled “County.”

- Click the arrow and choose your county (e.g., Nairobi, Kiambu, Kisumu, or Baringo).
- The system automatically updates the list of constituencies based on your selection.
Step 3: Choose Your Constituency
Next, open the “Constituency” menu.
- Select the area where you live or intend to vote (e.g., Lang’ata, Westlands, or Ruiru).
- Once selected, the portal will display all available registration centers in that constituency.
Step 4: Visit the Nearest IEBC Registration Center
After identifying your preferred center:
- Visit the location in person with your original National ID card or valid passport.
- IEBC officials will assist you with new registration, updates, or transfers.
Find Centers Near You (Nairobi Map)
If you live in Nairobi, there’s an easy way to locate nearby registration centers using Google Maps. Refer to the Nairobi Metro Area Registration Map, a community-generated tool showing all IEBC centers within the city and its surroundings.
Despite Kenya’s vibrant youth population, registration turnout among 18–35-year-olds remains lower than expected. Many cite lack of awareness, confusion about where to register, or simply assuming they’re already listed.
Don’t wait for the next election season rush. Check your details today, register if you haven’t, and encourage a friend to do the same.
