Snapchat Will Now Allow Users To Attach Links To Stories

Snapchat today has released an interesting update on their mobile apps (iOS and Android) that looks to be targeted at those people who use their accounts to promote themselves.

Starting today, Snapchat users should look out for a paperclip icon on your toolkit which you will use to type in a link. When other Snapchat users tap on that link, it will open in Snapchat’s internal browser, just like how we see on Instagram.

That is not all in this update. Snap has added Backdrops which allows you to tap on a new icon inside the scissors tool to add colourful patterns on the cut area of your snap. The backdrop selections will be rotated daily, just like how we have seen with the much loved AR Lenses.

Voice filters is the other new feature in this update which will allow users to use a variety of character voice filters to make a remix of their voices. Initially, voice filters were available in some AR lenses and it is interesting now Snapchat has decided to make them a separate feature.

The other feature is that now users will be able to create their own geofilters right within Snapchat. Previously, you had to do it on desktop and now you will be able to create a geofilter for a wedding or graduation party and they will start at $5.99. This is one of the ways Snapchat is monetizing its platform and it is about time they added that functionality within the app.
