All ASUS Laptops Announced at the Built for Brilliance Virtual Launch Event

ASUS held an online summit that saw the announcement of many laptops. The Asian company has been selling the devices in the country for more than one year now, and the launch of the devices is a very good thing from the consumer standpoint because they will now have a lot of options to choose from – that is if the company prices the devices competitively.

It is also worth noting all the laptops announced are equipped with 11th Gen Core Processors that promise improved performance and better battery life in a space and time that has been favouring chips from AMD.

The laptops are also lauded for their small footprint, both in terms of size and thinness/thickness.

In summary, and according to ASUS, the following devices are the first of their kind:

  1. ASUS ZenBook Flip S (UX371) is the world’s thinnest OLED convertible laptop and 1st ASUS laptop verified as an Intel® Evo™ platform design (FHD LED-backlit 1W panel version)
  2. ASUS ZenBook S (UX393) is the world’s thinnest and lightest 3:2 3.3K laptop
  3. ASUS ZenBook 14 (UX435EA/EG) is the world’s smallest 14” laptop with ScreenPad
  4. ZenBook Pro 15 (UX535) is the world’s smallest 15” 4K OLED laptop
  5. ASUS ExpertBook B9 (B9400) is the world’s lightest 14” business laptop.

This baby weighs a paltry 1.2 kg and is 13.9 mm thin.

It has a 4K OLED NanoEdge display with top of the line numbers in terms of colour accuracy.

According to its name, it can do a 360-degree stretch.

There are other models that were announced at the stage, but we have rounded up the above because they are the most interesting devices that are likely to make their way to Kenya store shelves.

Also, I understand that the model numbers are confusing – but ASUS Kenya has specified some models that will be hitting the shores before the year ends, and how big a whole they will make in your pocket.

Pricing and availability

ASUS ZenBook Flip S (UX371)

Will be available in December in Nairobi.

Price is around KES 190,000.

ASUS ZenBook S (UX393)

It will be available from 1st quarter of 2021 in Nairobi.
