Meta is bringing Meta AI Chatbot to WhatsApp, its popular messaging platform. The tech giant is shipping its large language model-powered Meta AI to WhatsApp.
Meta is increasing the number of people testing its AI features. The instant messaging app having 3 billion users is the perfect playground for testing these AI experiences at least for beta users.

Meta AI was unveiled late last year and the chatbot is now available on WhatsApp. The Meta AI chatbot icon is next to the compose button on the Chat tab in the new bottom navigation bar for some users.
Tapping on it launches a new chat and Meta has designed the chatbot to not only answer questions but also use text prompts to create images as well.
Llama powers meta AI chatbot and the Facebook-parent company is slated to launch Llama 3 next month which will be its net generation large language model and will probably power the AI assistant. Llama 3 will be bigger than Llama 2 and will have about 140 billion parameters – Llama 2, released in 2023, had 70 billion parameters.
Meta is playing catchup with other tech companies in the AI space including OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft.
“Our goal over time is to make a Llama-powered Meta AI be the most useful assistant in the world. There’s quite a bit of work remaining to get there,” said Joelle Pineau, vice president of Meta AI Research.
