It is a new month which means new features coming some already available on WhatsApp. The Meta-owned chat app is a popular platform with over 3 billion users sending over 300 billion texts and 8 billion voice messages.
Each month they bring new improvements and here are the new features you should take advantage of this month.
New Navigation Bar
WhatsApp has revamped its look by moving the navigation bar from the top to the bottom where you can find Chats, Updates, Communities and Calls tabs.
The Updates tab has the Status and Channels features.
This makes it easy to swipe through and keep up with friends and family.
Posting 1-Minute Status Videos
Some users can now post longer status videos up to 1 minute instead of being limited to 30 seconds. Met has shipped this feature from Instagram stories to WhatsApp. The 60-second videos will be viewable to other users who use the latest version of the messaging platform.
With this feature, there’s no need to post short 30-second clips of the same 1-minute video.

Sending HD Quality Media by Default
The app launched the ability to switch sending between standard and quality media mid-2023. Now the option to send HD quality is enabled by default.
Double-tapping Video to Fast Forward or Fast Rewind
There are new video controls that allow you to fast forward or fast rewind a video sent on the app by simply tapping either side of the screen as you would on YouTube. Double tapping takes the video ten seconds forward or behind.
Tagging Contacts on Status Updates
You can now tag contacts when sharing status updates just like mentioning your friends on a Instagram story.
This feature is still a work in progress as it is unknown if the tagged users will be available to contacts you’ve set to view your status but when you’re tagged, you’ll get a notification.
Pinning Multiple Conversations
You can pin up to five chats as opposed to the normal three chats. If you have a lot of conversations and need to quickly keep up then this feature is handy.
You can also pin three chats in a conversation as well. This feature lets you set a time limit ranging from 14 hours, 7 days or 30 days for quick references such as group chat rules, event location and time and other important information.
