Vivo V40 series’ launch is imminent and its key features have been confirmed. The new midrange series from Vivo will succeed the V30 series including the V30 Lite that are already available in the country.
A major design revamp is the primary camera island on the V40 series which now features a minimal and circular Aura light compared to the square on the V30 series. As the V series focuses on cameras, the base V40 will have a dual setup while the Pro will have a triple rear setup.
The two will have a 50MP main with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP selfie camera. The Pro gets an extra 50MP telephoto lens with OIS and 2X optical zoom. Video recording is capped at 4K 30fps for both front and rear cameras.
They will feature curved 6.78-inch OLED screens with 1.5K resolution and 4500 nits brightness. For comparison, the V30 screen reaches 2800 nits peak brightness.
The base V40 will have the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor at its helm just like its predecessor while the Pro will sport MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset. They will launch running Android 15 and FuntouchOS 15 straight out of the box.
Like its upcoming flagships, the Vivo V40 series will have 6000mAh batteries and support 80W wired charging.
Other expected features include under-display fingerprint sensors and IP68 ingress protection for dust and splash resistance. They will come with slim profiles as expected of the V series.
