Smartphone brand Vivo is set to unveil its new midrange device, V40 in the Kenyan market at the end of this month.
The Vivo V40 will be the company’s second midrange smartphone launched this year following the Vivo V30 which is its direct predecessor. While there are some features that the V40 borrows from its older sibling, it is also set to bring in a few upgrades.
The V40 sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen loaded with Android 14 from the box and up to 4500nits peak brightness. Under the chassis is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor paired with Adreno 720 GPU. The phone comes in 12GB and 8GB RAM options with internal storage options of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The phone also boasts IP68 water and dust resistance.
At the back lies a dual-camera module that consists of a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide lens while the display carries a 50MP front-facing camera. All this is powered up by a 5,500mAh battery pack that also features 80W fast charging and reverse wired charging.
From what we know, the phone is set to retail at KES 64,999 although it is still not clear which variants will be launched for the Kenyan market. Pre-orders are set to open a week after the launch on 7th October with the first official sale beginning on the 14th of the same month.
