Infinix just revealed the XPad Edge, and it’s one of those tablets that makes you wonder if the mid-range market is finally getting interesting again. At ~ KES 41,000, it’s positioning itself as a productivity device that won’t completely drain your wallet.
The biggest highlight is the 13.2-inch display running at 2.4K resolution (2,400 x 1,600 pixels). That’s a 3:2 aspect ratio, which is actually refreshing to see on a tablet. It gives you more vertical space for reading documents and scrolling through websites without feeling cramped.
The screen hits 450 nits of brightness and has TÜV Rheinland certifications for flicker-free viewing and low blue light, so Infinix is at least thinking about eye strain during long work sessions.
Inside, there’s a Snapdragon 685 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 685 isn’t going to set any benchmark records, but it’s a competent chip that should handle productivity apps, media consumption, and light multitasking without major hiccups. Storage expands up to 2TB via microSD if you need it.
The design is impressively thin at 6.19mm and weighs just 588 grams, which makes it very portable. Infinix went with a metal unibody construction in a color they’re calling Celestial Ink, which appears to be a dark gray.
For audio, there’s a quad-speaker setup that Infinix claims is 300% louder than typical tablet speakers. That’s aggressive marketing speak, but quad speakers on a tablet this size should at least provide decent stereo separation for movies and video calls.

In the camera department, you get 8 MP sensors on both the front and back, which will handle video calls and scanning documents just fine.
Battery capacity sits at 8,000mAh with 18W charging support. That’s a solid size for a tablet this thin, though the charging speed is nothing to write home about.
Infinix loaded the XPad Edge with Android 15 and promises two years of security updates. The software includes WPS Office pre-installed, split-screen multitasking, phone casting, and a PC secondary display mode.
There’s also Infinix’s Folax voice assistant and various AI features like translation tools, screen recognition, and AI writing assistance.
Even more good news is Infinix is bundling an X Keyboard 20 and X Pencil 20 stylus for free as a launch promotion. That changes the value proposition significantly.
Most manufacturers charge extra for these accessories, so getting them included at this price point makes the XPad Edge more competitive with devices that cost considerably more.
The tablet supports both 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, which is useful if you need internet access on the go without tethering to your phone.
The XPad Edge is currently available in Malaysia only. Whether it makes its way to other markets, including Kenya, remains to be seen, though history suggests it will get a local launch soon enough.
