Telegram has now discontinued its Telegram X app for iOS devices. The popular messaging app started informing users that the code for Telegram X has been merged with the main Telegram app and suggested users go to the app store and download the official main app.
Telegram added that all the features exclusive to Telegram X will be ported over to the main app including Archived Chats, support for multiple accounts, a slightly different home user interface, night mode, bubble mode toggles, tabbed saved messages, advanced mode that includes swiping actions to hiding keyboards to showing forward options and many more.
The main app was an actual update to the old app as Telegram opted to replace it with the iOS app with the Swift rebuild.
Telegram X was originally made for Android before getting an iOS equivalent a community enhancement project and most features developed were driven by competition from rival messaging apps.
The main app had been booted from the app store early last year with the people in charge of iOS and its accompanying marketplace for apps have stated that the app was showcasing ‘inappropriate content for users.’. It was later brought back.
Telegram X for iOS was a version back and merging it with the main app will streamline updates for users.
Telegram has assured its Telegram X users on Android that the app is here to stay and that its development is moving on nicely at its own pace.
