When Elon Musk bought Twitter, he removed the legacy verified checkmark for a paid X checkmark.
But if you didn’t want to be seen as the pleb paying for the checkmark, you could hide the X checkmark and appear as a normal user on the platform. And Elon is taking away that feature. Yes, he giveth and taketh.
X has been sending notifications to Premium subscribers saying that the ability to hide your X checkmark is going away soon. The social media platform hasn’t said exactly when this feature will be removed.
Elon wants everyone to know you paid for that X checkmark as the section that shows you how to hide the checkmark was removed last week.

It looks like Elon is going back to the way X used to verify notable people before he took over.
In other news, X now supports Passkey for logging in to the platform. However, this feature is now limited to iOS users across the world. The passkey technology makes passwordless logins available by combining two-factor authentication into one step. This means that your account is more protected against hacks.
