The Infinix InBook X2, a lightweight first-gen laptop from the tech company of its name definitely surprised us with all its features and general performance.
It’s very light at 1.2KG and also has a mobile-type 45W charging brick with USB-C, meaning the entire package is very portable. Ladies, I’m speaking to you. The screen is a 14-inch IPS panel with a maximum of 300 nits, bright enough for shaded outdoor use, and being matte, it’s usable even with a window behind you, with very minimal glare.
It comes with bottom-firing speakers that can get loud but lacks bass. The 50Wh Li-On Battery lasts 3-4 hours, which is adequate for daily use.
The USB-C display port is also the charging port, which unfortunately means that you have to choose whether to charge or use a secondary display. The laptop has an HDMI port as an alternative.
The processors available are an i3, i5, and i7. I have a Core i5-1035G1 – 10th Gen 4-core low-power Ice-lake architecture chip running at 1GHz but can turbo boost to 3GHz – with a max power (TDP) of 15W, which is great for power consumption and battery life. It’s a capable chip for daily use and will breeze through basic tasks, but it isn’t a top performer.
The laptop uses an integrated graphics card, UHD G1, whose performance is above the older UHD 620. Don’t buy the laptop aiming to play big title games on it, however, that doesn’t mean that it can’t play some less graphic-intensive titles such as CS-GO, Overwatch, F1, and FIFA.
The main board is manufactured by Infinix. This unit has Dual LPDDR4 4GB of RAM from Samsung for a total of 8GB – a 16GB RAM option is available on the i7 and can probably be upgraded to 64 GB. The storage option is a FORESEE 512GB NVMe SSD – good for faster performance and expected in this generation of laptops.
The Wi-Fi card is a dual-band AC-9461 for 2.4G and 5G wifi supporting up to 400Mbps. It also has Bluetooth 5. Finally, a genuine Windows 11 Home is included in the package.
Generally, the Infinix Inbook X2 is very functional and a worthy first-gen laptop from Infinix so we can’t wait to see what they have next in this lineup. And for a laptop worth KES 50,000 give or take, we would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for an everyday laptop.
