Samsung just announced the Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro, and there’s actually a fair amount worth talking about beyond the usual “great sound, great fit” talking points.
The most notable hardware change on the Pro model is a redesigned woofer. Samsung widened it while keeping the same overall earbud size by maximizing the vibration area and trimming the speaker’s edge.
The net result is about 20% more effective speaker surface than the previous generation. In practice, that means better bass and cleaner high frequencies, with support for 24-bit/96 kHz audio on compatible Galaxy devices.

Both models use Bluetooth 6.1 and Samsung’s own SSC codec for high-quality wireless audio, alongside standard AAC and SBC for non-Samsung devices.
The design went through what Samsung describes as analysis of hundreds of millions of ear data points and over 10,000 simulations to arrive at a shape that’s smaller and more stable than before.

The Pro uses a canal-fit (in-ear) design for maximum sound isolation, while the standard Buds4 goes with an open-fit design for people who find in-ear tips uncomfortable over long periods. Both come in a new transparent clamshell case.
On the noise cancellation side, the ANC now adjusts in real time based on how the earbuds actually sit in your ears, accounting for differences in ear shape and fit rather than applying a one-size-fits-all algorithm.
The Pro earbuds model adds a feature called Siren Detect, which temporarily boosts ambient sound when it picks up emergency vehicle sirens or alarms, so you don’t miss something important.
Call quality gets a meaningful upgrade through what Samsung calls Super Clear Call, which uses super wideband audio and machine learning to clean up background noise and enhance your voice.
Wideband calls roughly double the audio frequency range of standard Bluetooth calls, which makes voices sound noticeably more natural.
For Galaxy device users specifically, the Buds4 Pro supports hands-free AI assistant access, including Bixby, Google Gemini, and Perplexity, through head gestures and voice commands, without needing to pull out your phone.
Opening the charging case is enough to pair the buds to a Galaxy phone or tablet; no app installation is required.

Battery life lands at 6 hours per charge with ANC on for the Pro (7 hours with it off), with the case extending that to 26 and 30 hours, respectively. The standard Buds4 is slightly behind at 5 hours ANC-on, 24 hours total.
Both are water resistant with IP57 on the Pro and IP54 on the standard model, which means the Pro can handle brief submersion while the standard version handles splashes and sweat.
The Buds4 series launches alongside the Galaxy S26 and is available for pre-order now, with general availability starting March 11.
