Bingo Unveils E2 Electric Vehicle With Swappable Batteries and 440 km Range

Bingo E2

Bingo Technologies has opened pre-orders for the Bingo E2, an electric vehicle designed specifically for ride-hailing and delivery drivers in Kenya.

The Bingo E2 targets a problem that has kept EVs out of reach for many drivers in cities like Nairobi, where more than 500,000 rides happen every day: there hasn’t been an EV that’s both affordable and reliable enough to stay on the road all day without long charging breaks.

How the Battery System Works

The E2’s main feature is what Bingo calls a dual-battery system, and the company says it’s the first of its kind. The car has a fixed 31 kWh battery for everyday range, plus a second 13 kWh battery made up of four swappable batteries.

Drivers can pull out a depleted battery and swap in a charged one in under two minutes, instead of waiting around for a plug-in charge.

Bingo says this setup gives the car a combined range of 440 km. The vehicle also supports DC fast-charging and car-to-car charging, so one E2 can pass power to another if needed.

The goal is simply that less time charging means more time driving, and more time driving means more money for the driver.

What the Car Looks Like and Costs to Run

The E2 is compact, just 3 meters long, which makes it easier to drive through city traffic. Despite the small footprint, it seats four and has 745 liters of cargo space when the seats are folded down.

It also has 250mm of ground clearance, similar to what you’d find on an SUV, which helps with rougher roads.

On running costs, Bingo is targeting under $0.02 per kilometer, with an efficiency target of about 13 km per kWh. The company claims this cuts energy costs by up to 90% compared to a petrol vehicle.

Cloud Fleet OS and MAYA

Bingo isn’t just selling a car. It’s also launching Cloud Fleet OS, a platform that lets fleet owners anywhere in the world buy an E2, assign it to a vetted local operator, and track how it’s performing, all from their phone.

Owners can monitor vehicle status, operator performance, and lease revenue in real time.

More than 7,500 devices are already connected to the platform and being managed by operators across several countries.

The car also runs on an AI system called MAYA, which handles things like remote immobilization if a driver stops making payments, automated payment enforcement, and maintenance tracking.

Who’s Behind It

Bingo Technologies is backed by Trucks VC, Delta 40, and a group of family offices. Daniel Huang, the company’s founder and CEO, framed the E2 as a solution for power and mobility problems for entire economies.

Huang also spoke about Kenya’s role in the launch, pointing to the government’s EV-friendly policies and investment in renewable energy as reasons the country is becoming one of Africa’s stronger markets for electric mobility.

He added that Bingo’s entry into Kenya is meant to support that shift to cleaner transport while giving drivers a more affordable path to owning their own vehicle.

Price and Availability

The Bingo E2 is available for reservation now at drivebingo.ke, with an estimated price of KES 1.8 million. Shipping is expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
