Realme C55 With Apple’s Dynamic Island-Like Feature Launches This Week

Android smartphones never shy away from copying Apple’s design decisions with their iPhones. First, it was removing the headphone jack in 2016 and then adding a notch followed a year later with the iPhone 7 and the iPhone X respectively. These are some of the trends Android devices have copied from the Cupertino-based company and now they’re shifting to including Apple’s dynamic island with a mini-capsule feature.

Realme is joining the bandwagon this week with the Realme C55. The C55 will join Realme’s entry-level C series which includes the C33, C30S, C35, and C25Y.

Realme C55 version of the Dynamic Island is called Mini Capsule that will be used to show step counts, low battery alerts, data usage, and the phone’s charging status.

Realme C55 has an 8MP selfie camera in the cutout that interrupts the 1080p 6.72″ screen. The display also sports a 90Hz refresh rate and brightness peaking at 680 nits.

Realme C55 comes powered by MediaTek Helio G88 and comes with either 6 or 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of onboard storage. It comes with Android 13 and Realme UI 4.0. Realme UI 4.0 supports virtual RAM expansion which adds 6GB and 8GB virtual RAM.

You can add an external microSD card up to 1TB.

For cameras, Realme C55 has a dual setup which includes a 64MP main lens.

Realme C55 has a 5000mAh battery which supports 33W fast Type-C charging. The company recently changed its policy which now means each new phone will have 33W or more fast charging.

It also sports 3.5m headphone jack and comes in Sunshower and Rainy Night.

Realme C55 will be launched on March 7th.

BBK might try to bring the Mini Capsule to its other brands including OPPO and Vivo.

Xiaomi was the first smartphone company to copy this design with the just-launched 13 Lite which has Apple’s Dynamic Island-style camera hole on the display.
