Google is expanding its AI-powered shopping experience in Search with the official rollout of Virtual Try-On and intelligent price tracking for apparel.
The updates, announced today, mark the end of the experimental phase in Search Labs and introduce new tools designed to help users shop more confidently and efficiently.
Virtual Try-On Exits Labs
The “Try On” feature lets users upload a full-body photo and see how clothes would look on them using generative AI.
It realistically simulates how different items drape, fold, and fit on a user’s body, taking pose and lighting into account.

This tool is now available in Google Search, Shopping, and Image results, with support for select categories like tops, pants, dresses, and jackets.
It leverages Google’s Shopping Graph, a database of over 35 billion product listings, to deliver accurate visual previews using real product data.
By allowing users to virtually try on items, Google hopes to reduce the uncertainty that often leads to product returns in online fashion purchases.
Alongside virtual try-ons, Google has added a more robust price tracking feature for clothing. Users can now:
- Set alerts for specific sizes and colors.
- Define price thresholds
- Receive notifications when preferred items drop in price or come back in stock
This builds on Google’s previous price alert functionality by adding variant-level customization, making it easier to track exactly what you’re looking for.
Looking ahead, Google previewed a new AI feature called Vision Match, expected to roll out later this fall. This upcoming update will expand AI Mode in Search and Shopping by enabling users to browse personalized style and interior design suggestions through visual matching.
Vision Match will use AI to recommend items that align with a user’s visual preferences, streamlining discovery for fashion, furniture, and home decor.
Availability
The Try On and enhanced price tracking features are now live for users in the United States on both desktop and mobile. Vision Match is currently in development and will launch in the coming months.
