YouTuber Marques Brownlee, also known as MKBHD

Popular tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee, better known as MKBHD, is once again in the spotlight, but this time, it’s not for his trendy tech reviews.

Recently released police bodycam footage has revealed a series of traffic violations that have raised serious questions about the content creator’s driving habits.

The compilation video, uploaded by YouTube channel Transparency Bodycam on December 15, documents three separate traffic stops involving Brownlee, each highlighting a different driving infraction.

These incidents span from June 2023 to August 2024 and come on the heels of a controversial November video where Brownlee was caught speeding 96 mph in a 35 mph zone, a clip he quickly deleted after public backlash.

The bodycam footage paints a troubling picture of Brownlee’s driving record. On June 30, 2023, he was pulled over in a Tesla for having excessively tinted windows and was unable to produce his driver’s license at the time.

.

While officers ultimately verified his identity and issued a ticket, this turned out to be just the first of many more infractions to come.

Things escalated on June 16 this year, when Brownlee was stopped for speeding 59 mph in a 25 mph zone, a major deviation from the posted speed limit.

Despite having two points already on his license, he received a relatively lenient citation for “unclear plates” with a potential fine of up to $55.

The third incident, occurring on August 11 this year, saw Brownlee cited once again for unclear plates, this time at a gas station in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

These revelations have reignited public criticism, particularly following Brownlee’s November incident where he was filmed speeding near an area with children present. The compilation video has quickly gained traction, accumulating over 43,000 views in just a day.

As of now, Brownlee has not released an official statement addressing the newly surfaced bodycam footage. His silence has only fueled further speculation and criticism from both his audience and fellow content creators.

While MKBHD remains a respected voice in the tech review community, known for his in-depth reviews of smartphones, AI tools, and electric vehicles, these traffic violations have brought forth important questions about personal responsibility and public perception.

For a content creator with millions of followers, particularly young tech enthusiasts, Brownlee’s driving habits send a potentially dangerous message about road safety and adherence to traffic laws.
